Towed and stored vehicles
towed and stored vehicles
The Patrol Administrative Services Unit handles all telephone reports and calls concerning the release of towed, stored, or impounded vehicles. Telephone reports are any non-emergency call for service that does not require personal contact to obtain the necessary information. The phone number to call is (209) 468-4171 or the non-emergency communications center number (209) 468-4401.
Calls concerning vehicles that were towed by Sheriff’s personnel (including Lathrop Police Services) can also be directed to the Case Management Unit at (209) 468-4171 or (209) 468-4178. Persons wishing to reclaim their vehicles are advised there is a $155.00 fee (money order or certified check only) imposed by the County for processing the return. Two licensed drivers and the registered owner must come to the Sheriff’s Office facility in French Camp to get authorization paperwork prior to going to the tow company to pay storage fees and recover the vehicle.
