LT Farnsworth has been with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office since 2001.

He started his career working in the Lathrop Police Services, where he received accolades for DUI enforcement and accident investigations.

After Leaving Lathrop Police Services and returning to County Patrol he was made a Field Training Officer. Lt Farnsworth also worked in the Boating Safety Unit, where he certified in boating accident reconstruction.

Promoted to Sergeant in 2012, he was assigned to the Coroner’s Division where he served as the Chief Deputy Coroner for San Joaquin County until being promoted to Lieutenant in 2015.

As a Lieutenant, he was assigned as The Administrative Lieutenant of Investigations, Professional Standards, and Lathrop Police Services. While in Lathrop Police Services he acted as the Deputy Chief and acting Chief of Police. Lt Farnsworth was transferred to Patrol and has worked as a Patrol Watch Commander.
