Michael Judson was hired by the Sheriff’s Office on November 1st, 2004 and graduated from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office STC Basic Academy.

He was assigned to the South Jail Facility. Michael was a Custody Training Officer from 2007-2010. In 2007, Michael was transferred to the Jail Core Facility and worked there until he was assigned to the Custody K-9 Unit. While in the Custody K-9 Unit, he became the K-9 Trainer. He trained multiple K-9 handlers and dogs in narcotics detection.

Michael has instructed at the American Jail Association conference regarding Custody K-9 Development and Utilization. In 2018, Michael was promoted to Correctional Sergeant. He was assigned to the South Jail and Honor Farm Facilities. In 2019, he was transferred to the Professional Standards and Training Division. Michael was the Sergeant for all Correctional Academies. In 2021, Michael was promoted to Correctional Lieutenant.

He currently oversees the Honor Farm, Alternative Work Programs and the Community Corps Programs.
