Marco Mendoza was hired on August 28, 2000, as a Correctional Officer and was assigned to the Jail Core until 2004 when he was moved to the Honor Farm. In 2005 he was assigned to the Honor Farm and then the South Jail where he worked until 2006. From 2006-2017, Mendoza worked on the Classification Unit, judicial Protection Unit, and as a Terrorism Liaison Officer. In 2017 he was promoted to Sergeant and worked Jail Core, Relief, and South Jail Facility. He did that for three years and in 2020 was promoted to Correctional Lieutenant.

Since 2004, Correctional Lieutenant Mendoza served on CERT (Custody Emergency Response Team). In 2009 he was awarded Correctional Officer of the Year by the SJCCOA Association. In 2010 he was awarded Correctional Officer of the Year from the American Jail Association and that same year he became a Leadership Stockton Graduate/Alumni. He currently oversees the Jail Core Facility, Transportation Unit, and CERT Executive Officer.
